Overview
Bogie Hearth Furnace also known as car bottom furnace, which comprises a trolley car and a furnace body, mainly for annealing and quenching or hardening larger parts such as cast parts or tool steel dies or semiconductor dies to temperatures between 800 °C and 1100 °C, the furnace heating in the way of radiation from 5 heating sides, so the temperature balance at each angle, including the bottom. Programtherm provides a wide range of bogie hearth furnace with capacity up to 5000L, Tmax 1400°C. Each furnace can be designed with energy saving measures already integrated.

- Bogie heating receives electric power via blade contacts with rear side when driven in, bottom heating protected by Silicon carbide board on the bogie providing level stacking surface
- Bogies with flanged wheels running on rails for easy and precise movement of heavy loads
- Motorized exhaust air flap for optimum ventilation of the furnace chamber and for rapid cooling at low temperatures (need extra fee)
- Precise digital PID temperature controller programmable 32 segments

Safety Measures
- Built-in ammeter and dual voltmeters for easy monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Overheat protection shuts down the furnace if temperature is outside of acceptable range (refer to controller's manual) or when the thermocouple is broken or malfunctions
- Power failure protection resumes furnace operation right after the point of failure when power is reestablished
- Microprocessor based self-tuning PID control provides optimum thermal process with minimal overshoot

Application Notes
- However, toxic or explosive gases that may generate from the sample during the heating are not recommended for use with this programmable muffle furnace without necessary safety controls and supervision.
- Small cracks may appear on the surface of the refractory ceramics over extended use. This is a normal occurrence and the cracks may be repaired with alumina coating
